For 2008 Dodge has four different trim levels and power trains for the Charger. There is the “Bib Bad Mama” SRT-8 with the 6.1 liter Hemi V-8, the R?T with the 5.7 liter V-8 and the MDS System, and theN comes the SXT with the 3.5 liter V-6 and then the base model SE with The 2.7 liter V-6. The SXT would most likely be the biggest selling model if there were not so many law enforcement agencies using the R?T with the MDS System for their patrol cars. The SXT is a nicely equipped car with a big enough engine to have plenty of pep but yet get decent gas mileage in this time of rediculous gas prices. THe SXT comes standard with all the most desiraaable, have to have features like power windows, power steering, tilt wheel, cruise cintrol, power brakes, AM/FM CD player, remote keyless entry and an engine security system. The 2008 Dodge Charger SXT has a 3.5 liter SOHC 24 valve V-6 that puts out 250 horsepower and has an EPA rating of 25+ miles per gallon. It comes with a four speed automatic transmission. The SXT has four wheel disc brakes. Fog lamps are a standard feature on the SXT. The SXT comes with 17″ tires on 17″ aluminum rims. THe All Wheel Drive System is available on the SXT and is a very popular option here in Colorado where the streets and highways do get icy and slick sometimes.The Serius Satellite Radio is standard on the SXT and comes sith the first year subscription paid. I really enjoy my Serius Satellite radio because you can get a lot of music that jsut isn’t on many of the regular radio stations. I enjoy classic country and I especially enjoy a station tha plays Southern Gospel Music. That is my favorite kind of music and even though I probably have 300 Southern Gospel CDs, it is still nice to hear the new stuff and a lot of the classic groups on satellite radio.The Video entertainment Option is available at extra cost but if you ever travel with small children or grand children, it is an option that is worth its weight in gold. There is a 7″ screen mounted on the back of the center console where DVDs of kiddies shows like Barnewy and Elmo or some of the Disney movies can keep kids enthralled for hours. Ear phones are available so mom and dad can listen to what they want on the 276 watt digitally amplifed six speaker stereo.My son-in-law’s nephew has a new Dodg Charge SXT thatis the garnet color and they love it. Unlike a lot of 22 year olds he drives sensibly and gets almost 30 miles per gallon on the highway. They jsut had a baby about six months ago and they swear by the video system. Tito says it is a kife saver when they come to Denver from Colorado Springs to see all the Aunts, Uncles, and Grandma. The SXT will make a good looking, dependable car for someone for many years if they take care ofit and keep up the maintenance.
